Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thalaivaa directed by Vijay is getting ready for release. The film is currently in post-production and will be in Atmos sound.
Thalaivaa is one of the hottest movies in the circuit, with Vijay, Amala Paul, Sathyaraj and Santhanam in the cast. The music of GV Prakash is already a sensational hit.
Vendhar Films are distributing it throughout Tamil Nadu. All distribution territories like overseas, Karnataka, Kerala and Telugu dubbing rights have been sold out as there is a craze in the market for the film.
Meanwhile as per sources the producers and Vendhar Films are looking at an August 9, Ramzan release day. But outside of Tamil Nadu distributors want it to be pushed by a week to Independence Day (Aug 15).
Remember Bollywood SRK biggie Chennai Express is planning to release in nearly 4000 screens worldwide. So overseas and Indian domestic distributors feel they will not get the right screens and would prefer a solo release.
Producer Chandraprakash Jain of Mishri Productions said that film has to be completed and censored before he can zero in on a release date.
He says it will be the biggest ever release in Tamil in terms of number of screens and would prefer a solo release date. As per industry sources Thalaivaa will release either on August 9 or 15, the latest depending on various factors.
