Retired IAS officer K Shivaram is applying makeup once again for his next project Ee Hrudaya, which will be directed by well-known film-maker S Mahendar.

Shivaram, one of the few bureaucrats-turned-actors, retired recently from the Karnataka government service. His first task post retirement was to act in a movie, as a court ruling had barred government officials from appearing on the big screen in commercial film projects.

His claim to fame was that he cleared the IAS by attempting the answers in Kannada, the first by any from the state. However, soon, the acting bug bit him and he turned a film star through Baa Nalle Madhu Chandrake. To everyone’s surprise, the movie, which was directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, was a massive hit.

He went on to act in several movies, such as, Vasantha Kaavya, Yaarige Beda Duddu? Pratibhatane and The Game. However, nobody expected the senior bureaucrat to return to Sandalwood. The latest project Ee Hrudaya is supposed to be a romantic subject. The protagonist falls for a Muslim girl and challenges faced by him.

Shivaram has roped in a new comer (Dilshad) as the heroine of the movie. The selection of the star cast is on. The movie is being produced by Kumar. The project was announced this week and it would go on the floors later this month.
The actor, though aged 60 years, has managed to look young by remaining trim and fit. But it is to be seen if the audiences accept him.
